Applicant working through a personal statement draft

The right fit

Make the essay sound more like you, not someone else.

Strong writing starts with meaningful choices about story, reflection, and focus, not just polished sentences.

You are unsure where to begin

You have experiences worth sharing but need help identifying the through-line and choosing what belongs in this essay.

Your draft feels scattered

You want a clearer structure, stronger reflection, and a more coherent answer to why medicine.

You need candid feedback

You want to know what is working, what is not yet landing, and what to revise before submitting.

Exactly what you receive

A defined process for a stronger draft

We focus on the central story and the revisions that will make your writing clearer and more compelling.

  • Draft and experience reviewReview of your intake, relevant experiences, and current draft or story notes before the strategy conversation.
  • Live story-development strategyWork through your central message, narrative structure, reflection, and the material that best supports your purpose.
  • Two defined revision roundsReceive detailed developmental feedback on your writing, revise it yourself, and get feedback on your next draft.

What feedback looks like

Specific direction you can act on

Feedback focuses on the essay's story, structure, clarity, and reflection. You will understand which sections to develop, cut, or rethink, and why. The goal is a stronger statement that still sounds like you.

Questions

Before you begin

Do I need a finished draft?

No. Bring a draft if you have one. If you are still choosing a story, share your experience notes and ideas so the strategy conversation can focus on finding a clear direction.

Will PMC write my personal statement for me?

No. You write and revise the statement. PMC provides story-development guidance and detailed feedback while preserving your authorship and voice.

What counts as a revision round?

A revision round is a defined submission of your personal statement for feedback, followed by your own revision. The intensive includes two rounds of developmental feedback, not unlimited editing.

Does this include secondaries or other essays?

No. This intensive focuses on your primary personal statement. Secondary essays, activities descriptions, and other application writing are outside this service.

Can a parent pay for or participate?

Yes, a parent may purchase the service. An adult student decides whether a parent participates or receives feedback. We work with the student as the client.
