Premed guidance for the decisions that actually matter.
The path to medical school is complicated enough. PMC helps you understand your options, ask better questions, and make a more informed next move, whether you use a free resource or work with an advisor.
Our mission
Pre-Med Community began in 2015 to help premed students navigate a process that can feel complicated and surprisingly opaque. The mission has grown, but the heart of it has not: make trustworthy guidance easier to find and easier to use.
We are here for the applicant who is doing the work but cannot tell whether it is the right work. Maybe you are weighing an MCAT retake, wondering whether a 3.7 GPA changes your plans, or trying to decide what to do with one more year before applying. Those questions deserve more than a generic checklist or a sales pitch.
PMC brings together free tools, articles, guides, planning resources, and courses so you can learn on your own terms. When the answer depends on your particular record, writing, timeline, or interview performance, our consulting services offer a defined way to work through it with an advisor.
Whether you pay for help or never do, the goal is the same: leave with a clearer view of your options and a practical next step.

I have seen this road from more than one side.

I'm Wil Caruso, MD, founder of Pre-Med Community. I studied biochemistry at Kennesaw State University before earning my medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. I was a first-generation, nontraditional applicant, so I remember what it was like to navigate this path without a family roadmap.
During medical school, I interviewed and scored applicants in the MMI format for medical-school admissions. Later, I participated in an anesthesiology residency admissions committee. Those are different roles, and I think it matters to be clear about what each taught me.
Why I built this
I know what it feels like to look at your application and wonder whether you are already out of the running. I know the late-night search for an answer that somehow leaves you more worried. When you are the first person in your family on this path, even basic decisions can feel higher stakes because there is no one at home who has done it before.
I have also worked inside the premed consulting industry. I saw how difficult it could be for students to tell what they were paying for and who would actually do the work. That experience made the need for clear scope, honest expectations, and useful deliverables feel personal to me.
I built PMC to offer the guidance I wish I had found: serious about the evidence, candid about uncertainty, and willing to help you make the next decision without pretending to control the outcome.
You should leave with a clearer decision, not just more information.

What makes us different
A more personal alternative to vague promises: specific experience, useful free help, and paid services with a clear scope.
Specific, honest credentials
Wil's medical-school admissions experience is interviewing and scoring MMI applicants. His residency selection work is a separate experience. We explain those roles accurately and distinguish firsthand knowledge from research and judgment.
Free guidance with real value
You should not need to buy a session just to understand the basics. Our tools, articles, and guides are meant to help you make progress before you ever consider personal advising.
Clear scope when you do pay
Consulting pages describe the preparation, session, deliverables, and limits of each service. We do not sell an admissions guarantee or pretend one package is right for every student.
The standard is simple: real experience, honest expectations, and work that helps you move forward.
